Lead back-end developer (future CTO) (32-40 hours/wk)

An opportunity like this doesn’t come by often. We are looking for a new lead back-end developer for our fintech for good startup/scaleup: The Social Handshake.

ABOUT THE SOCIAL HANDSHAKE

The Social Handshake is a fintech for good start up/scale up that makes doing good easy. We provide Payroll Giving in the Netherlands through our online Payroll Giving platform. Payroll Giving is one of the easiest and most effective things one can do to create social impact. When you join The Social Handshake you will not only be the lead developer in our fast growing startup but also contribute to a more sustainable and just world on a daily basis.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Work together with frontend developers, our (part time) CTO, and the rest of the team on:

  • Backend development improvement of Payroll Giving Platform

  • Development for the expansion with Holiday Giving, Tree Giving, Bonus Giving and more

  • Connecting our platform with different salary administration software systems (API)

  • Connecting our platform with secondary benefit platforms

ABOUT YOU

You are a backend developer at heart, but capable of doing front-end as well

  • Familiar with Java and JavaScript in a full stack environment (3+ years experiece)

  • Familiar with creating and consuming APIs

  • Preferably familiar with Google Cloud

  • Available at least 4 days a week

  • Able to travel to Amsterdam at least 1 day a week

About our stack: LoonGift is currently built on the Google Cloud, with Java as its backend and React as its front-end. Now that our standalone MVP has been a success, we are starting to integrate with all the different payroll and benefit platforms out there.
